On 2/12/15, The Lancet released yet another fear-mongering study designed to frighten women away from using appropriate bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

I encourage all women using or considering BHRT to read the original article and the reply written by Joseph L Onwude in the BMJ.

The epidemiological study by the Collaborative Group on Epidemiological Studies of Ovarian Cancer discussed the cause-effect relationship between HRT use and ovarian cancer in their recent report1. However their reasons for suggesting a strong causal relationship are very weak.

Further, there does not appear to be any separation of women who used bioidentical hormone replacement of progesterone vs synthetic progestins.
