Taken and slightly edited from a message from the CEO, ME/CFS Australia.
Please vote a second time. Voting closes Monday DEC 31st at noon. In this 2nd round ME/CFS is lagging terribly, we are well behind in 2nd place. Our FIGHT for ME needs your vote now. Our logo currently has 430 'likes' but we will need about 1,000 ‘likes’ if we are to secure a win. The voting between charities has been extremely competitive.
Log in to Facebook and voting will take 30 seconds:
1) Click the link below, then
2) Hover over the large blue ME/CFS LOGO and click ‘like’ in the bottom left corner of the logo
3) Share with everyone you know and ask them to vote.

A tiny grassroots action from every-one is what will help us Win and become the Tupperware Charity of Choice in 2013. Tupperware across Australia and NZ will then drive information and awareness about ME/CFS/FM/LYME and related neuro-immune endocrine disorders (NEID’s). Tupperware Australia and NZ will also provide much needed income for ME/CFS Australia (VicTasNT). We will use this income to increase awareness and lobbying across Australia.

This is actually a very unique opportunity to raise not only substantial funds but also LOTS and LOTS of awareness. The winning charity - and let's help ME/CFS Australia to be the winning charity! - will be 'Charity of Choice' for 6 months of 2013. This means that the charity and our illnesses would be mentioned by the demonstrator at every Tuppeware party in Australia! That's so much potential awareness!

Tony - maybe you can post this under Advocacy too? Since this is not just about funds but also an enormous opportunity for awareness raising.

Done. Where can you see how many likes each charity has?

Nevermind, I could see how many likes by following Frenchtulip's link, thanks

We are 220 little likes behind, with 127 people in this forum right now. Wouldn't it be nice to see this group win thousands? That would be my Christmas wish

Just a note to everyone who already voted - there seems to be some confusion about where to click 'Like' - as some people are 'liking' the entire album (containing 4 images - the 3 charity logos, including ME/CFS Australia and the Tupperware Charity Choice logo) rather than liking the actual ME/CFS Australia logo. So to ensure your vote is in the right place, click here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...8875366795.447308.112510456794&type=1&theater

- and if it says "You and 608 others like this", then your vote is being recorded
- and if it says "Like" and "608 others like this", then you need to click 'Like' here

Thank you (PS - hopefully by the time you read this, it will be much more than 608 likes in total :))

Now is Christmas time - so we get in generally a lot of visits. so if you visit someone or you get a visit - just ask the people to vote like the first thing and then you can join your party. it takes 1 minute.

Impressive turnout for our community - especially considering the time of the year.
We are second, behind by about 150-160 votes. The leaders, Australasian Tuberous Society, have 1011 at this point. The gap has been getting smaller but it's still a substantial gap. This charity contest is also being run concurrently in New Zealand but the charities involved have 16-30 likes - so probably not worth trying to make an alliance with.

I think there is a problem with several large FB pages/groups/organisations posting the link to the album with ALL the entries rather than the direct link to the ME/CFS Australia logo/entry. So there could be dozens of people 'liking' the album rather than the ME/CFS Australia logo, not realising their votes won't be counted - the number of 'likes' on the album has also increased a lot in recent hours.

Here is some text about the contest people can use/adapt/repost when e.g. asking family and friends to vote -http://meawarenesspics.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/easy-fundraising-opportunity-your-mouse.html

We need prolific tweeters with many followers on this too!
This contest is so easy - just one click!

We have broken 1000 votes!!!
We are 1003, only around 30 votes behind!!!

Thank you to everyone voting - this is excellent - but there are 4 more days to go so we still have to keep on finding more votes.

TIP - If you are a member of active Facebook groups (especially if they are public) - go onto busy threads and ask people on the thread to take part and vote, emphasising it's only one click and there is potential to do so much good. Remember to link directly to the ME/CFS Australia (Vic) logo - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...8875366795.447308.112510456794&type=3&theater
