Is there documentation or history on the Dosing and scheduling of Artesunate in treatment for HHV-6 anywhere.
I can’t find much information.

Anyone had this treatment ?
IV or IM
How did it go for you ?

Thanks much

Artesunate and artemisinin have been shown to be effective against herpes family viruses:

https://academic.oup.com/cid/article/47/6/804/325924

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/21843554/

I tried IV artesunate once a week, for a few months, with the IV bag preceded by a bag of high dose vitamin C. I've seen this combo be quite effective 9n other patients, however it didn't work on me. I had HHV6, EBV, CMV, and HSV2, which may have been too great a viral load and I also had low IgG1 and IgG3. It took switching to Valcyte plus IVIG for me to make any headway.

But perhaps you'll have better luck than I did.

Hi. Thank you. We have similiar viruses and issues. I keep seeing your name and reading posts you post.
I am on ivig too and IV ART is an option but I felt won’t be strong enough ironically like you said.
Valcyte will be tried first. One out of state doc is advising double high dosing for 6-8 weeks but local doc is deciding and talking to other doc and we will see what dose is what I’ll actuallu get.
What was your Dosing and timing.schedule. ? I asked you same in other tread. Sorry.

Valcyte - 1.8g a day, two 450mg pills both morning and evening.

Plus CBC and CMP every 3 weeks to monitor liver and kidneys. I've been on it 8 months and am fine. I also am on a nutrient protocol to support my liver function.

Thanks. Why do some say WBC tank. ? I know it's possible but one person said on 450 1xa day had to stop after two months. Are there certain people more at risk for that possible side effect ??
