My partner Elle started to follow Dr Myhill's protocol about a year ago, building up to it supplement by supplement. She quickly found a number of the recommended supplements caused problems for her one way or another (allergy / sensitivity / gut objected / etc), so she substituted different versions. Once she'd made a few variations we worried we might not be doing the protocol 'right', so might miss the benefits. We also worried that by going off-piste as we were, we had no real idea what we were doing.
That led us to look for a doctor who would supervise it all - or that's what we thought. Actually the doctor we found, who is a nutrition specialist, recommended a number of additional supplements, plus all sorts of other stuff (dental work; probiotics, prebiotics, anti-virals ...) Expensive, yes, but we decided stopping Elle getting any worse, or achieving any improvement at all would be worth the investment. And Elle hasn't got any worse - arguably she has a little more energy in recent months and after losing a scary amount of weight she's recently put some back on.
So, I'd say Dr Myhill started us on a good track and I'm delighted we found her website, her books and her protocol. We'd have signed Elle up with her but she doesn't take new patients these days.
