before the so called terapies, i didin t have much back issues, the ocasional stiffness, and burning but nothing unbeareable..My main reason was that i was hopping will improve my blood flow to the brain, less tension and dizzines..The filthy thief told me that he will solve all my problems, cause all symptoms were due to some bulshit dysfunction cause by the misalingment of the spine
Like a idiot i belive the guy,or hoped was true..

I pay a lot for 5 -10 min session for him to twist and break my spine and neck..Me health deterioate a lot latelly, cause i make some stupid things aswell,But since i saw that chiropractor 2 weeks ago ,my back and neck never been the same..Is burning all over, stiffer than ever,i feel almost paralized sometimes..and the twitcing in limb is more often than always. What on earth did he done to me?..Did anyone saw a chiropractor and with such negative results?

erm...2 weeks ago is before your 20km run isn't it?

Whilst I've never seen a chiropractor some people swear by them (rather than at them), I've no doubt, the same as in every field, there are good ones and bad ones.

Whist I have no way of knowing, isn't it just as likely that your 20km run combined with PEM could be causing all of these symptoms? In other words are you casting about looking for anything that would mean you don't have a CFS like condition, if so, good luck, I hope you don't have CFS but for the time being proceeding as if you do is the safest option.

No no i'm not looking for other stuff, i'm aware of what that run done to me and unfortunatelly i am convinced now i have cfs..but the spine was worse from before the run..more than a week before that..suddenly after the chiropractor session.

I wasn't intending it as a criticism, you should look for other explanations as, if and when you are able to, we pretty much all do from time to time.

Despite what you will generally read PEM is not exclusive to ME/CFS, it's true that if you don't have it you don't meet the modern operational definitions of ME but simply because you do have it doesn't automatically mean you should stop looking for an explanation which could give you a better outcome than ME/CFS currently offers.

So if you can get additional testing etc. to rule out other overlapping conditions then you should, when up to it, do so. Don't compromise your finances, physical health, emotional health, or cognitive health to do so, but if as and when you can - it "might" lead to a better outcome, but it equally might not, it hasn't for many of us (as far as I know - still seeing the same old faces from several years ago here).

I'd suggest you assume you do have CFS and act accordingly, until you have a different diagnosis.

RE; Chiropractor, I wouldn't go back, if you need to see one then I'd find a different one and try and get references first.

ATM I am PEM'd and can only use my system hit and run style, and can't remember, but I have seen references to several other things causing it, if no one else pipes up I may be able to do a hunt next week - sorry

I was foolish enough to visit a chiropractor. I went onto Google and found a discount deal on a website called Groupon, that do deals and promotions, and purchased a package of three treatments for some bargain price I can't remember now. I was hoping it might help with some intermittent back pain I experience and even have a positive impact on my general health, i.e., ME/CFS, too. When I went for my consultation, it turned out he was a conventional guy who didn't make any claims about being to help relieve my ME symptoms, but was happy to proceed on the basis of my back pain complaint. This was mildly disappointing, but also very reassuring.

When I went for my treatment sessions he made some quite 'violent' adjustments of my spine at my lower back, it actually made a crunching sound and I emitted a small groan. He also did some of those neck adjustments where you have to fully trust they won't twist your head off by mistake.

What happened to me? Well, after each treatment I would walk out of his clinic like I was floating on air in a state of deep relaxation, that lasted for the rest of the day. The next day I had some mild aching where he'd worked on my shoulders, but no other side effects.

So there you go, perhaps we all do gung-ho things now and then? Luckily my chiropractor experience worked out well, I'm sure for others it might not. One thing I did do was check the practitioner had good feedback and satisfied clients on the internet.

Look after yourself and be well.

I have seen lot's of chiropractors,
and started to have neck pain after a cession with one of them that decided to twist my neck, even though I hadn't complain about it!!
Now I've managed with self massage to remove my spine blockades and doesn't need anymore help from them.

If I had to go for alternative medecine, I would look for an acupuncturist able to sting his needle in my belly. I saw a documentary of a chinese great specialist that remove back pain by doing it (he is in China !)

I have seen 3 different chiropractors over the years for things that I did not think were related to ME/CFS. I was very happy with all of them. I did see another chiropractor once, but his business set-up looked like such a scam that I did not become a client.
