Does anyone know whats happening with tickplex? For those who dont know about Tickplex Its a finnish developed bloodtest that can meassure up to 20 pathogens including bartonella in one test. Its an Elisa test (immune response) but very sensitive much more than existing tests.

From what I heard the test function well but they havent been heard from in a while.

Hi @johmil,

I was informed that we have to wait another couple of weeks until the patents are ready. Then the Tickplex test will be available in Finland, Germany and the US. The tests is considered reliable for Lyme infection and up to 20 microbes that are analyzed with a new nanotechnique from one single sample. It sounds too good to be true, but finally we seem to be close to get a valid test for diagnosing and follow-up after treatment.

Seems interesting, antigen protein on the lyme bacteria. If tickplex function in a similair way its really interesting I was informed by a doctor that that tickplex was an elisa test and elisa usually meassures antibodies (an immune response) but if its an antigen (also Elisa test) its a much better test.

No it is antibodies when I checked this link http://tezted.com but its multiple antibodies. This could be just IGG and IGM (the same as augsburg test and a rather common test) but we can hope that its more. The plus side on this test seems to be that its very sensitive (probably the nanotechnology or something else) and that it can identify antibodies to 20 microbes in just one test. Most exciting is that it can identify bartonella.

I don´t think you should need a doctor´s order to get the test. If you are sure that you want it, you might have a result when you see your doc.

@johmil , maybe @Kina could help if you would like to change the title?

How's a bloodsample collected then if a doctors order is not needed?
You just order the test-kit and get blood drawn at a doctors clinic. Then you send the sample back to the lab. It should be stable at room temperature for 14 days, so delivery wouldn´t be a problem. The turn-around time is only some days and you´ll get the result by e-mail.

Its positive that the test is an Elisa and not an Elispot its more direct that Elispot and Elisa is much more used than Elispot in healthcare so it may be seen as more serious if its validated.

Correct me if im wrong but I heard that it could identify antibodies for cyst forms. Didnt even know we had antibodies for that. If thats true it would be important indeed.
