This week we sent 100 patient samples off to Japan!

There, Professors Watanabe and Kataoka and the team at RIKEN (http://www.riken.jp/en/research/labs/clst/) will conduct cutting-edge metabolomics (an approach that looks for differences in metabolic profiles) to discern any differences in ME/CFS that could lead us to a biomarker!

Check it out... https://youtu.be/9_eFqi20BQ4

In the video clip [approx 2 min] it also says:

”Samples from these same patients are also being used by Dr Michael Houghton, University of Alberta to examine cytokines.

And being used by Drs Alan and Kathy Light to look for the presence of autoantibodies."

Safety Alert: To prevent tissue damage, always wear protective gloves when handling dry ice, or items that have been packed in dry ice. End of Safety Alert. (Sorry to be so boring!)

The research looks very interesting; all three research projects look interesting!

Very interesting but I wonder why they didn't sent the samples to Metabolon, the US based company used by Ron Davis, if I recall correctly.

It's not quite clear whos funding the testing exactly in this collaboration, but testing showing the same things from different labs would be brilliant wouldn't it?
I imagine the Bateman and Horne Center have patient samples banked up ready for use quite easily?
