I have no doubt that the request does cause distress to the relevant staff.

Quite how and why a request from another academic in the right area can be seen as vexatious is astounding. Clearly I would expect openness.

I expect some of the points made in the reply may have been lifted from previous legal responses to earlier requests which would have been made based on the best legal guidance the university could get.

Can Prof Coyne assemble a journal article on the challenges involved in getting data to challenge findings?

I assume he has the competence but whether he will?

Although Prof White thinks the campaign to get the information is well and tightly coordinated I'm unsure the extent to which this is correct.

I'd be up for helping to contribute to an article on communication related issues but researching to determine all the people who have asked for the information etc is more difficult not being on the receiving end from all of the requests that have been sent.m

According to her LinkedIn description https://www.linkedin.com/in/danielismarketing her current job is:

Associate Lecturer
Derby University
August 2014– Present (1 year 5 months)

Derby University provides a number of courses in higher education. My interest with them is UDOL, their online course arm in higher education. I have delivered units at masters level in marketing and entrepreneurship and worked as a module author.

I think an academic paper on this could be interesting or useful.

Let's see who else has Interest. I'm a marketer thinking about marketing communications aspects and perceptions conveyed to patients and stakeholders through not complying with FOI requests and have noted several articles in the Telegraph where there are people now challenging foi law which is a legal area. ME is clearly a medical area which is context. From an academic perspective people tend to write articles from the same academic discipline . My idea was a sprat to catch a mackerel so I'm prepared to see what other fish are out their prepared to bite!
