Sorry to post but I'm wanting to get a b-complex that excludes B12 and folate. I thought there was already a thread about this. If anyone has it bookmarked please forward. thx!

If you weren't looking to avoid B9 and B12, I'd recommend the one I changed to. It was like the sun came out, and I had been using Jarrow B Right previously. My new one is by Emerald Laboratories and it's called Active B Healthy. I went back and bought a second one while it was still on sale. It does have the B9 andB12 though.

@sregan Here is one of them. I don't think Ben lynch's b complex is on the list so you may want to take a look at his too as he is a specialist in MTHFR. http://forums.phoenixrising.me/inde...rch-for-a-b-complex-how-about-this-one.23984/

here is Ben Lynch supplement site

@juniemarie thank you!! I try to watch threads like this of interest but someone didn't get that one.

I intend to keep blog posts on things like this in the future... like "The latest word on ______" (recommended B-Complex, B12, Mfolate, etc...)

I chose the Swanson B-Complex. I blogged about the B-Complexes I found Click Here

There were 2 that fit into Freddds recommended dosages pretty well. The other 2 I liked had a lot of active forms of the B-vitamins.

Thanks everyone for the help!

I have also ordered Swanson. It has been ages, so I hope for it to arrive soon so that I can try :)

I am now trialing Dr. Lynch's B-minus - a B12 and folate free B-complex with bioactive forms like R5P and P5P. It has a bit of niacin to counteract overmethylation. Currently on day 3 at 1/2 capsule. Got a significant energy boost, so far it's good!

Here's the link to b-minus (Sherpa, you gave the link for SOD). I saw this when I was looking for a new B complex to suit Freddd's recommendation. I thought he had too much Niacin (I see he has 2 different forms: inositol hexanicotinate and niacin) and Biotin (500mcg).

Also since he's giving a co-enzymated form of B2 does that mean 20 mg would be more like 100mg (like we believe 20 mg of p5p is like 100mg of b6?) If that's so then that is really a lot!

@ahmo

You would think they would know what they had put in it :mad: l wonder what they mean exactly? Might? I know, it is becoming harder to find supps without it. I read that it is trans fat.

I'm trialing it, too -- if you count taking it once, LOL! It says to take it after breakfast, and I found out why, by taking it in the evening. (Heck it was the only way I could separate it from other supps to see the effect!) I am quite wary of B2, because it made my low-back inflammation return in December (which went away when I stopped it).

Here's what happened: Wide awake from 4-6:00 am. Tight neck & back muscles. I finally took potassium at 6:00 am and went back to sleep. Got up around 8:00 to eat, but right back to bed around 8:30. The whole day was like that: get up, go back to bed and sleep some more.

When I try it again, it will be in the morning, and just 1/2 capsule or less!

In December I was trialing FMN (flavin mononucleotide), and this B-minus contains R5P sodium. Are those very different?
