If anyone in Sth Aust is after a lyme doctor.. Dr Belinda Coyte is a good doctor who is specialising in lyme (and she's working with the gov to try to get this illness more accepted).

Anyone seen Dr Peter Mayne? He charges $750 per hour for first appointment and $375 for half hour follow up consultation. Wonder what is his treatment protocol and if they are effective.

He is only a GP is it even legal for him to charge this amount?

For the time spent, yes. An average gp visit is only 5 minutes for $50 - $60 (which works out to an hourly rate of $600 - $720. At the medical centre I go to if you want more than 5 minutes you have to book a long appointment and pay extra.

$750 for an hour is outrageously expensive, but not really more so than other doctors when you work it out

My brother sees Dr Peter Mayne. I believe he probably knows his stuff, but my brother found him a poor communicator, and had to email back to him to confirm how to go about the protocol.
The antibiotic treatment is done by a local doctor. My brother had to find a local doctor to agree to do this.
The tests were done in Sydney. He was found to have Lyme and one of the parasites.
