Best ME Docs?

Can someone please tell me who generally tend to be regarded as the best docs to see for those suffering with ME? I am in Arizona but willing to travel across the country, or if need be, across the world. Thanks!

Do you have any idea what kinds of treatment or testing you are looking for? That is a big factor in which doctors would be a good fit for you. Do you want to try Florinef? Antivirals? Equilibrant? Something else?

I think my personal leaning for all around treatment would probably be Dr. Klimas and her cohorts in Miami. Lately she seems to be pushing aerobic exercise more than I agree with, though.

I really have no idea Sparrow. Would there be any testing I can do that will give me info on what treatment would be best for me.
I am young (22 years old), been dealing with ME for about 8 months now. It is getting worse and worse.

You probably want to see one of the top specialists who has a broad variety of treatment options. If you let us know where you are, roughly, you might get some more specific suggestions.

I second Hip's list that Sushi linked above. That's the best list of tops docs I've seen.

I think you should get tests for viruses, immune system, NK cell function to start.

There are a bunch of tests that you can have do to eliminate things and to give you a better idea of where you stand. That might help you decide where to go.

Someone should be able to tell you specifically what you need done.

Also, many of the docs have waiting lists if they are even taking new patients so you have to weigh that factor to in deciding who you want to see.

@Sushi As far as I know Dr. Nicolson has never seen patients. There was a time when he did lab work for mycoplasma I think, but that was years ago.

Yea Im back and forth between AZ and CA right now. Going to try and get an appointment with De MeirLeir when he visits the states. The few docs in Cali are also an option.

Seeing you havent been sick for long and getting worst. I think you should try to see a ME specialist fast (within the next few months).. as another said, many of them have long waiting lists so maybe the first thing you could do is start contacting them and asking about how long their waiting lists are (some may not even be taking on new patients)...and this could rule quite a few out.

Also make sure you would be prepared for the specialist you choose, his normal treatments eg with some you may need to be prepared to take anti virals long term or antibiotics or whatever ME theory he goes by.
