Just wanted to give you a heads up that Wally is headed back to Washington D.C. for round two of "David and Goliath". I will be stopping by for a visit from Jan. 24th through Jan. 31st. This will be a rain, snow or shine appearance. :)
(See, 1) http://forums.phoenixrising.me/inde...-2013-and-washington-d-c-on-12-10-2013.26686/,
2) http://forums.phoenixrising.me/index.php?threads/david-and-goliath-—-or-the-sick-and-the-bureaucracy.26857/, 3) http://www.mecfsforums.com/index.php/topic,18501.0.html and 4) http://www.mecfsforums.com/index.php/topic,18602.0.html)

If you would like to participate in the upcoming demonstrations either in person or online, please contact Wally via this posting on the Phoenix Rising Forum, the posting on the MECFS Forum (http://www.mecfsforums.com/index.php ) or by e-mail at WallaceAlvinCleaver@gmail.com.

I definitely feel like the tide may be turning for the "outside voices" of ME/CFS patients to be heard in Washington and around the world.

Hang tough Canaries. I promise not to give up on this fight! :ninja::)

This is where duct tape comes in handy. We can just tape any extra riders on to the roof and the trunk. :wide-eyed:

Wow! That is an impressive contact list. :wide-eyed: Maybe it should be put into a separate thread and pinned in the Advocacy Forum.

Hi! Just checking back in on this thread to let you know that work is still in progress getting ducks canaries in a row for all the activities happening this week in D.C. Working hard on the preparations. Does anyone know if there is a "Demonstrations R Us" here in D.C."??? Lots of last minute details to work through. The  is always in the details. ;)

I have been sequestered in my hotel room since Friday evening working away on preparations for events happening this week in D.C. - i.e. demonstrations, IOM meeting and lobbying Congress. There are many patients and patient advocates working quietly and diligently behind the scenes. If other patients and/or their supporters would like to lend a helping hand to keep the ball rolling to try to get this illness a spot front and center on the national news stage (and hopefully international stage) your support would be very welcome and appreciated. Full instructions on how you can help in this effort will be published later today (1/26 - EST) on this and other ME, ME/CFS and CFS Forums, Websites and Facebook pages.

Sure hoping everyone will be rested up because Monday is going to be a very busy day. ;)

Yes. It is now past the witching hour that I said I would be posting and I still have a few more things to tweak. Busy, busy day with some additional plates added to the performance tomorrow. But is all good, we just wish we could clone about 100 more bodies with fully functioning brains and motor skills.

What you will be asked to do in a few hours when the sun comes up over D.C. Is to consider sending out an e-mail, a fax, a tweet or a Facebook post to let the world hear your voice and show that we are not invisible. We are real people with a real illness and we need help from the public, our medical communities and our governments to recognize ME/CFS as a Neuro Endocrine Immune Disorder /Disease that needs the workd's attention and support to help solve this illness.

Rest now my canaries - in a few hours the gates will open and you will be able to participate in our virtual demonstration. We had planned to be able to stream "live" the demonstration(s) that will happen in D.C. tomorrow before the ME/CFS - IOM meeting. But we have run into some technical difficulties with getting a live stream up and functional, but we will let you know as soon as we can if this will be an option for you to join in on. Even if a live feed is not possible in the morning, the demonstrations will be captured on film for patients to view. We will also be working to set up a platform, such as google chat, so the patient community can come share how their day of advocacy took flight.

Good night for now. Talk to you again in a few hours.

Wow this sounds wonderful. Just saw this thread. So many voices being ignored, mental health, CFS/ME, Lyme and so many others.....have to be loud and make them hear, we need to ROAR....good luck with eveything today and thanks for what you are doing.

PR Forum members - I know that a lot of you may be watching the IOM meeting right now, but I wanted to try to post something as soon as I was able to. I apologize for not communicating prior to now, but I have not had Internet access since last night due to a problem with wi-fi connection at the hotel where I am staying and I after a long night trying to figure out what happened it appears that my computer was infected with a virus.

I have been able to get some sporadic connection on another mobile device and tried to get an earlier message up on the Forum, but I was kicked off several times and then needed to travel to the IOM meeting here in D.C. I am here at the meeting now and stepped outside to send this message once my backup mobile device was charged.
It has been a rough day made a little worse by the frustrations of dealing with technology that is not as reliable as one would expect. :(

Thanks for your understanding in why Wally disappeared from the planned on-line virtual demonstrations. Perhaps a rescheduling of this event can occur at a later date when all the unplanned technological setbacks have been addressed.

Headed back into the meeting right now.
