Postings on EMR above are too lengthy and off topic.

Re Emerson. I have had dealings with him. He is very business-like, but sympathetic to the symptoms presented by cfs patients. He is also focussed. He will do very specific testing, including the right Vit D, etc.

However, in my case, and I assume in others, he referred me to get a series of tests and then, based on those results and some short of cheat sheet, he determined the causes of my illness. In my case he deduced there was persistent mycoplasma infection requiring specialized antibiotics, and mercury toxicity. Mercury toxicity is not directly tested, so there is no guarantee that is the problem.

His consultations and treatments were very expensive, consisting in the main, supplements which he himself sold. I found this a little unsettling, particularly as I could get most of them online at a fraction of the price. I simply could not afford to continue on that cost basis. His argument was that he could guarantee the quality and supply. Furthermore, I had too many questions regarding how he arrived at his diagnosis and at the effectiveness of his treatments, considering I had no improvement after several months.

I currently see Deed, and as boost said, I am underwhelmed with the guidance he is offering. However he is very sympathetic to patients is extremely supportive of any regime you would like to try. I can understand his stance somewhat, given the uncertainty of both testing and treatment outcomes in patients. One particular positive I have with Deed is that he allows consults over the phone at a cost of $40 roughly, with none of this reclaimable from Medicare. This is comparable to the costs of a personal consult, but without the expense and time of travelling.

"His argument was that he could guarantee the quality and supply" That's a very weak argument. I'm not a fan of practitioners that pimp out their own supplement line. On top of other expenses the last thing we need is inflated prices for supplements. A truly sympathetic doctor would provide information on how to obtain quality and affordable supplements, not look for a way to profiteer from it. He'd probably rather not know about the existence of iherb.

" Furthermore, I had too many questions regarding how he arrived at his diagnosis and at the effectiveness of his treatments, considering I had no improvement after several months." That says a lot.

I can't say with confidence he was profiting, and certainly for some people it would be easier, however the situation allowed me to mistrust his advice; that may just be me, others may think differently.

The impression I get is that Emerson, and even Deed, despite their good intentions, do not really understand how hard it is to live on a pension, and still fork out for consults and medications. And it irks me, because then I wonder how fair dinkum their empathy or sympathy for cfs patients is.

I also think there is an inherent bias: that overseas supplements are inferior, despite the point that most of our supplements come from overseas anyway. They could be right, but it would not surprise me if it was revealed that quality control here was no better.

BTW, the professional that helped me the most, particularly with the bureaucratic hurdles, eg Centrelink, was a psychiatrist. He remains my main specialist, even though he considers my condition physical. He has stood by me over the years (bulk bills everything I have no gap to pay).

Hi Boost. You mentioned to me the centrelink points system and the difficulties you have with it. I did not come through on the points system. However perhaps others have had success with this system and can provide specific advice, eg what specific disabilities can be used to build up points? Will a psych evaluation help? It might be worth starting a new thread on this topic.

Hi Boost,

Again, my posting needs to be read with an open-mind!

The 21st Century is a very sad time, and has become a cesspool of man-made health problems that are being denied, and has opened the flood gates to the many malice, insidious, blood sucking practitioners of the medical and natural holistic profession. Once upon a time, we had our family doctor who was compassionate, understanding, knowledgeable, and was like an extended member of our family. They endeavoured to treat and find the cause of our illness, and never overcharged nor cover up the symptoms with unnecessary misuse of drugs and quackery like we see today. Greed is the essence of evil and feeds the spirit of wealth, mammon, and wannabees.

We have a gun-barrel held at our head in a “Catch 22” situation, and the gift of compassion and care that we knew in the 20th Century is no more. The many bad practices tarnish the few medical practices that have integrity and profession. The ungifted practitioners see themselves as “gods”, have no decency, and subject us to guinea pig experiments. Their ears are closed, their hearts are bound, and their hands are that fleece us of our life-savings. Trust between doctor and patient has flown out of the window, and if they can’t cure you in fifteen minutes by their corrupted words, then they will expel you from their classroom. They feed only “itchy ears” of the gullible with unfounded, worldly knowledge and science.

The so-called gifted healers gain their reputation from misinformation, and false recommendations and promotions, as they gather their corrupt few around them, and weave their spider web of deceit before your very eyes. They entice us by their silver-lined tongue, offering their magic potions of the fountain of youth. But, they never look healthy! They are not there for you and I, they are only there for their own ego. They don’t listen to your cry for help, with any compassion, as you look upon their face, they don’t look you in the eyes, they just keep writing with a small smirk upon their face, as they visualize their next trip to the snowfields in the Austrian or Australian Alps, or in Canada; or their next taxpayer’s trip overseas to attend a special gathering of other like-minded medical professions, and return armed with another new format to skim more money out of our pockets.

In the past fifty years, I’ve found no doctor who was prepared to listen, to discuss, or speak the TRUTH. Many are prepared to write you off as paranoid and delusional, suffering a form of schizophrenia or mental illness that would make the pharmaceutical companies happy.

Over the past four decades, I have been diagnosed with CFS, ME, FMS, IBS, and BMS, and the causation factor is unknown. They can say that it could be this, or that, or maybe this, but when it comes down to commonsense, it all sounds hairy-fairy. Since 1970 it has been known through military research that electromagnetic fields and radiation from any form of power sources, electrical equipment and devices, and electronic equipment and devices were causing many illnesses in the military forces.

We all know what is right and what is wrong, and I don’t need to be brainwashed and mind-controlled by unethical medical purposes, who are deliberately barking up the wrong tree.

I had an embarrassing incident with a top medical professor who specialised in the burning mouth syndrome. I was referred to this specialist by a closed-minded dentist. I explained to him that I had suffered burning sensation of the mouth and tongue, which become worse at night, soon after 11:30PM and continued for two or three days without any subsidence. I explained to him that I had constant dull pain throughout the mouth; aching and tingling teeth that were filled with amalgam; swollen tongue and lips; tingling and numbness of the tongue and particularly the tip of the tongue and mouth; bitter and metallic taste in the mouth; and dry and sore mouth, tongue and throat.

The specialist explained to me that he didn’t know what was causing BMS, but there were a number of beliefs of possible causes of BMS, such as: damage to nerves that control pain and taste; hormonal changes; the dry mouth could be caused by medicines or suffering from Sjögren’s syndrome or diabetes; nutritional deficiencies; oral candidiasis; a fungal infection in the mouth; acid reflux; poorly-fitting dentures or allergies to denture materials; anxiety and depression. All these beliefs sounded all great, but it’s a syndrome that just appears since wireless technology began.

And when I said to the specialist that I had neither of those possible causes, he appeared shocked that I should say that. I then said to him that I believe that the radiation from the wireless technology, particularly mobile phones and Wi Fi was the cause of my BMS. I then proceeded to explain to him my belief. I said that I believe a form of voltaic and galvanic action was taking place in my mouth, the same as the electrochemical process in batteries, which is referred to as “electrosis”. I explained that “electrosis” happens when an electro motive force (Emf) is brought to bear upon two conductive metals, such as the amalgam fillings (silver and mercury) in my mouth that were immersed in a solution (saliva). This electrochemical process produces a voltage-current flow. I then said that if this is so, then that is the reason from the metallic taste in the mouth as the metal ions were leeching out of the amalgam fillings poisoning mouth with silver and mercury that was causing my health symptoms in my mouth. You should have seen the look on his face, as anyone would think that I had slapped him. He basically ignored me and escorted me out of his surgery, never to see him again.

Boost when your doctor asked you if you play video game late at night, you should have asked him why, because he may be trying to establish why your symptoms are such, and he may also be aware of the EMR and EMF factor.

Your fatigue, IBS, joint pain, cog fog, and dizziness could be attributed to long-term and prolonged exposure to EMR and EMF from your computer and other ancillaries to your computer set-up, and power source. When playing games, are you using Wi Fi wireless or DVD games?

Medicare has made many cutbacks on prescribed drugs, but there is a possibility that he has a restraining order on him from Medicare because of his improper practice, and he is unable to authorize these tests. Maybe someone else can give you an answer to that.

Your “Cog Fog” is possibly caused by non-ionised radiation from your wireless technology, which also causes headaches, ringing in the ears, dry and sore mouth and throat, fatigue, joint pains, brain fog, forgetfulness, restlessness at night, back pain, dizziness, and IBS. I’ve lived with this for many decades, and have become worse over the past few years as my next-door neighbours have become wireless technology yuppies, and they radiate our home, 24/7. But, if I had the same set-up in our home, I would suffer ten times worse. I have disabled all wireless on my computers, modems, and routers, and are all connected via cable, and our home phone is cable.

LCD TVs radiate EMR and EMF, the plasma are worse. If your computer is wireless with a wireless modem and router, then you are cooking yourself with microwave emissions for six hours, and then another 2 hours on your Wi Fi tablet, no wonder you are suffering, and no wonder your doctor asked you that question.

If your wireless set-up is left turned “ON” all night and all day, including your mobile phone, then that is another reason why you are restless at night, back pains, and extreme IBS. Do you have a DECT phone, and an electric clock/radio beside you bed?

I can understand how you feel, but we need to take desperate measures when it comes to desperate health problems, and at the same time we need to change our ways and adapt to our desperate measures.

Sad as it is Boost, it’s going to get worse, as SMART metres are now being installed in most Qld power boxes, and SMART appliances are beginning to dribble into our country, and all such SMART devices have Wi Fi capability, which transmits 24/7 upon the unsuspecting public.

I am a retired Reg Dental Hygienist.I can tell you first hand-Most dentist will not recommend that your Amalgum (Mercury filled) fillings be taken out. The ADA would Tar and Feather them) I had all mine removed by a Dentist that did it with safety measures. I had little improvement. This does not mean you would not have better results. I do think the EMF is a light bulb moment. When I am out somewhere and there is no power for any period of time, I start to feel better. I don't think it is just Nature. Would like to run this by Dr. Cheney. Don't know whether any of you have had to wear a Heart Monitor or not. When I did -I had to unplug everything in my bedroom and bathroom. That should tell you something.
What about all the kids with earphones connected to video or cell phones??

Thank you all for your great , educated posts. This is something WE CAN DO ON OUR OWN!!!!!!

Interesting SanDiego#1, and I thnak you for your compliment. I sent you a message. Who is Cheney?

Regards

Dr. Paul Cheney is one of the foremost CFIDS specialist in the US. Has been doing research and treatment for over 20 years. He went into heart failure a few years ago after having an Amalgum filling removed and it leeched into his organs. He had to finally have a heart transplant. He is doing well now. I have Mercury Toxicity and Diastolic Heart Dysfunction from all the Mercury in my body. He said and I quote" It can never be removed and is in every organ in my body" He is trying to build up my immune system to handle DD.

You can reply on Conversations if you wish.
Again- I am excited to read all your Posts

the website looks good ie dr dzung. ANyone know the cost here at all. It does sound abit airy fairy new age, but many times these docs have more an idea the the average GP, but also hidden costs scare me too. the video clip looks good but get the feeling one can then get trapped into treatments one doesnt want etc.
I dont really know? But would like to hear from others who have seen her though.

Has anyone seen Dr Dzung Price? - Wonder if they are familiar with H2S and other GUT/ME/CFS issues.

Dispite what I was initially told, it has become quite clear that my current Nutritional and Environmental Doc has next to no idea regarding the treatment of ME/CFS. He works along side Emerson(which I have NOT seen)and charges around the same consulting fees $187 per visit/15min's with a rebate of $35. What I find amusing is the fact that reception alway's "forget's" that I am on a DSP(which attracts a 10% discount)EACH and EVERY time I go to pay. Maybe next time, I will sticky tape my DSP Card to my forehead :)

So anyway I couldn't agree more on multiple points Rusty J & Boost made - not on my PC, difficult to outline and repost.

I remember getting a "DNA" type bacterial test from Australian Biologics back in 2000, which came back Positive in the "Universal Screening" segment of the results. Which from what I remember the doctor telling me along the lines of "you have some thing, but they can't ID it yet" :)

It's worthwhile exploring the possibility of lyme and various co-infections even though it is an expensive exercise. I would definitely try and see the dr in Maleny as it seems more and more people are discovering their symptoms are due to lyme - not cfs/me or fm.

I agree with "gcmaf Australia" to join an Australian lyme forum as they offer heaps of information, support and contacts. I live in Melbourne and have just discovered via infectolab that I have lyme and Chlamydia. pn and I believe I was bitten over 20 yrs ago! I believe lyme is everywhere in Australia and our dr's have got their heads in the sand.

I just rang the medical centre, its about a 2 month waiting list. The first 2 consults are $150 with $70 through medicare and subsequent consult 120 with 70 back or pension is $77 with $37 back from medicare. This is Dr John Ryan, his brother Barry is now retired.

Would be interested to hear from others as to what he specifically looks and tests for.

For myself would like a second set of eyes to look me over plus need someone who is more proactive with hormone relacement therapy ie testosterone replacement therapy.

cheers!!
