2 days ago i had a big cut and i had tetanus booster vaccine and that was late at night !! when i woke up i start feeling lymph nodes burning every were and body aches i went to the doctor asked for what is this ?and he said it might be a reaction of vaccine since i have immune troubles ? but am afraid cause am having fingers stiffens and muscle pains every were and its similar to tetanus disease symptoms !

Any one had tetanus vaccine when he was sick with CFS/ME ? if so did any one have those wired reactions and how much does they stay ?

Any help will be appreciate it ASAP please :( pains all around my body !! its enough for me that am having chest infection and am on antibiotic since a month !! i dont think my immune would handle another infection

Stiffness isn't a symptom of tetanus - rather tetanus causes severe cramps. Even "lockjaw" is really cramp-related, not a matter of joints locking up.

More likely you're just having an abnormal immune reaction to the vaccine, as has been shown to happen to ME/CFS patients getting flu shots in several studies. Basically the vaccine should "work", but tends to do weird things to our immune system as well for a while. You also might be reacting to some of the ingredients, such as egg or aluminum. Other toxins might be problematic to process as well.

I hope so !! but my nick and lymph nodes in the jaw and even the tonsils are not doing good with big pains so that is making me afraid beside the body muscle aches that is a tetanus symptoms !!

How long does it take usually for those symptoms to move and leave me ?

I'd agree that these symptoms are most likely an immune reaction or a reaction to one of the additives in the vaccine.

I have had two tetanus boosters since I got ME. These were regular boosters; I had not injured myself. I did not react to them, but that does not mean that you are not.

It sends a shiver down my spine just hearing about anyone having that jab. Mine is five years overdue now and unless i have an injury i'll never have it again. Hope you recover from it soon x

If that is a drug for tetanus, you may not be "on the safe side" beginning a course of it. It would be extremely unlikely that you got infected with tetanus from a vaccine and adding another antibiotic to what you are taking could complicate your situation.

My 2 cents!

I didnt say that i got it from a vaccine ! what i said that i had a big wound after an injury 3 days ago and its something like 10 cm and i had the vaccine as a routine thing they do in the clinic when some one get an injury !! I cant get tetanus from it am sure because there is no bacteria in it, what is there is died toxnis.

What am saying that my symptoms after taking the vaccine are bad but am not sure if that due the vaccine as a bad reaction or the injury i had.

The vaccine wont work before 14 days if i didnt wasnt immunize since 10 years and i dont remember taking it in the last years so the Metronadizole for a week is not a bad choice i think.

4 pills of two different antibiotics + Valcyte are heavy on my body yes but what can i do else !!

Oh my god!
THE SAME history happened in Russia few mounthes ago. Guy, which have same desease as you and me (he think that it is HIV) also used tetanus booster vaccine. After that he felt himself very poor and he was placed into the hospital. Nothing was found, of course (( They tested his spinal fluid for viruses and bacterias - NOTHING! His nick name Limpbizkit on Russian forum about HIV. I don't know did he speaks English to talk with you. But we had to keep up communication!

Have you talked to your doctor about this? Can they test you for the tetanus?

Did you have a reaction at the site of the vaccination? I had a tetanus vaccination decades ago prior to traveling. The doctor told me that if i did not have a localized reaction to the vaccination it meant that my immunity to tetanus was very low and that I should come back in two weeks for a booster.

I had a routine tetanus booster in 2009 (I had no injury that prompted me to get it) and my personal experience was this: Within hours of getting it, the injection site became very swollen and red, like the diameter of a baseball, and I had horrible flu-like symptoms, nausea, etc. These symptoms lasted about a week. About six weeks later, I developed chronic, debilitating muscle spasms that started in my back and spread throughout my body. They were so bad I couldn't sit up alot of the time. I spent most of the year lying on the floor. These lasted about a year and then resolved. I developed my CFS-like symptoms about the time the muscle spasms resolved.

Yikes! I am due for another tetanus booster, so I don't like hearing that sort of thing. I have had two since coming down with ME with minimal reactions, so I think I will go ahead and get it.

I had to have a tetanus shot in 2007 after standing on an old rusty garden fork. Was very nervous about getting the shot, but I didn't have any nasty side effects. It was a huge relief. I hope you come right soon Omar88. x

My tetanus booster date is approaching, and upon discussion with my doctor, I will not be taking *any* vaccines in the future, including this one.

Just a note: Some years ago I had an injury that indicated a tetanus booster. My doc at that time was a Lyme and chronic disease specialist. It had been 15 - 20 years since my last booster. He assured me that it would still be effective even though the guidelines say to repeat it more often.

He did give me another booster, I had a mild reaction (I was minimally sick at that time) but he saw no need to begin treatment for a possible tetanus infection even though I had been cut by the classic "rusty, dirty object."

Omar, sorry you are feeling anxious. My WBC is normally around 3.2 and sometimes a little higher. The only time my WBC went high at 11 was when I took Imunovir. It all began with upper back soreness, I could only lie down on my side. I ignored it thinking it was nothing, Then I started to experience neuro/viral symptoms and had to stop the Imunovir.

I had a tetanus shot 6 weeks ago and was okay. I also had it years before with CFS and was okay. I also just had pneumocol. (However you spell it.) I have low IgG and low IgA and I was okay. I had one or two days of feeling flu like symptoms. We do react to things weirdly though and just because I am okay, doesn't mean anyone else would react the same way.
