Does anyone have glands that are always up? I have a gland in the left side of my neck and behind my left ear that are always big. They did go down a few years ago for about 18 months and I felt a lot better but they have gone up again and I am currently unwell, I don't know if it's linked.
I saw dr Perrin for 2 years who does the lymphatic drainage so I don't know if that's why they went down and because I haven't went for the last year or so my toxins have built up again.

I have one on the back of my neck, just below skull. Mine goes up an down throughout the day - up in the morning and evening usually and then up but lower in the day - been like this for 4 years. A couple of months ago it went right down for a week and i felt almost better, butit soon came back, and so did the feeling ill. The ones behind my ears come up and down as well.

When i questioned my doctor he said 'w're not interested in THOSE glands'

Nice.

All the best, Justy.

It's weird isn't it that we both say when they went down we felt better? It's like our bodies are constantly fighting something.

Consider Ehlers-Danlos Vascular Type, which can overlap with other EDS types, and other connective tissue disorders. Consider those disorders as well eg Loeys-Dietz Syndrome & Marfan Syndrome...(see Dr at a genetic clinic)
Consider infections & consider Vasculitis eg Behcet's Disease, including Lupus-like Behcet's presentation...(see Infectious Diseases specialist, Immunologist, Rheumatologist, Gastroenterologist, Opthalmologist etc)
Rule out cancers/leukaemias/lymphomas etc.

It's not going to be cancer, lymphomas or leukemias because I had m.e for 12 yrs and the glands have been up and down since then.
I am seeing an immunologist next month.

Hi I have swollen glands alot - had Glandular Fever - 20 years ago. Lots of Orange Juice seems to really help me - takes a couple of days to work but all of a sudden my glands go down - I have experimented a lot and found this works for me.

My main symptom of ME is a near constant feeling of never quite
recovering from flu, in that I usually have a muzzy head and swollen glands in
my neck.

A few weeks ago I had a cold. As I was recovering I woke up one morning
with a clear head, which is most unusual for me. This wonderful feeling lasted
for about two hours, until I returned to my normal state.
I have had this happen from time to time after a cold.

Is this brief relief after a cold something that many ME sufferers experience?
If so, is it an indication of some treatment which might be helpful, or some
line of research to be followed?

I definitely feel a bit better with regards to ME symptoms when I have a "normal" infection. Though after the first month or so of my sinus infection (I'm now on month 4), I started feeling crappier again, with both ME and sinus infection symptoms.
