My symptoms apart form chronic fatigue are night sweats, ringing in the ears, the more ringing means I m exhausted. The more I do.... And that means not very much, the worst are my night sweats...I also have dizzy spells.
And vision has spots in them.
Anyone?

I don't have night sweats any longer, but I did before my Lyme and Babesia were treated. I do have tinnitus that worsens with my fatigue, sometimes it's pulsatile..drives me nuts. Dizzy - yes; vision issues - yes. Vision problems include lots more floaters, "static" overlaying my vision, and blooming colors against white walls.

Babesia is a nasty tick-borne disease that is sometimes a coinfection with Lyme. It can be difficult to diagnose. The first couple of weeks it can be seen in the red blood cells, but it's rare to catch it that early. PCR and serology are also used, but are imperfect. It's treated with anti-malarial drugs that can be almost as nasty as the disease.

Because of having the symptoms for the duration of this illness, I consider Tinnitus and visual disturbances part of my usual me/cfs symptoms. And yes, they do fluctuate with severity. changes. The Tinnitus has always been pretty bad (loud). I too lost the night sweats after treating Lyme and Co-infections.....but they were never bad or consistent even back then.

I too have the severe night sweats back - they went away when I started taking Samento, but I actually didn't feel any better on it. Back with a vengeance now though. Think many people with ME suffer with these.

Have you tried B12? It helped me with the ringing and the vision problems.

Must be something to do with the change in weather, or maybe more activity draining the adrenals. Last two nights I've woken up drenched in night sweats. Haven't had that happen in a long time.

If you haven't been checked for Lyme and co-infections, I definitely recommend it.

Like you, with all the stupid symptoms of ME/CFS/FM, I tend to overlook some things. I recently tested positive for Lyme, Anaplasmosis and Babesia. I'm being treated for the Lyme and Anaplasmosis now by my primary care doctor. Another physician (the one that ordered the testing) really wants me to see a Lyme specialist.

It looks like I'm going to have to because the treatments for the various co-infections are needed and my health has declined rapidly. While my primary care doc is also certified in Infectious Diseases, he is not up to date on the treatments for Lyme.

Good luck!

Hi JT,

I was tested for Lyme, but, as far as I know, not the "coninfections". Can you tell me what these are so I can ask for tests? My ME/CFS started with SEVERE night sweats ~ very sickly sweats, like Malarial-type sickness sweats. Last night, after 6 or 7 months of this not happening, it reared its ugly head again and has me freaked out.

Thanks!

I dont have night sweats anymore, i've been on estradiol for 2.5 months and i think that has helped reduce sweats and increase sleep (not refreshing), downside depression has returned. dr told me today that estrodiol can deplete b12 which can cause depression and complicated by mthfr issues. I have had constant tnnitus since 2009.

vision - are you talking about vision anomalies or floaters? I have lots of floaters. I have not had weird vision for a few years. When I did have the vision issues it was very scary. Letters/words seem to jump when I read them, I would see weird colors and movement. I'm so glad that is gone. Floaters Ive had for years, even before the really sick years, just seems to be more of them.

I get very, very, hot feet at night which make it difficult to sleep. They go bright red and swell if I stand up. I have no idea of the cause unfortunately. I use a cold hot water bottle, which seems to help a bit (although my feet actually warm it up!) and am considering buying a chillow.

Apple I see some of the POTsies and EDSers complaining about this similar thing on their chat pages.
Let me know if you want some links.

Somone recently mentioned there you need to keep up your potassium and that helps.
i bought a freezer/ heat pack for about 10 dollars which is great and lighter than chillows.

cheeers,

Nanou have you been checked out for POTS/OI - if you have dizzy spells that is a likely cause.
