Vote for Invest in ME here:
https://www.directdebit.co.uk/TheBigBreak/100GoodCauses/Pages/CauseDetail.aspx?CauseId=539
(You need a facebook or google account.)

Anyone can vote, from any country. (See Sasha's post, here, for confirmation of this from the organisers.)

The charity with the most votes, receives £2000 and one runner-up receives £1000.

Here's more info:
https://www.directdebit.co.uk/TheBigBreak/100GoodCauses/Pages/100GoodCauses.aspx

If you go to this page, and click on the 'rank' button, it lists the charities in order of the number of votes that they've received, with the number of votes displayed in the top-right-hand corner of each charity icon:
https://www.directdebit.co.uk/TheBigBreak/100GoodCauses/Pages/Vote.aspx

A new vote is opened up each month, and other charities can be nominated, to be included in future votes, here:
https://www.directdebit.co.uk/TheBigBreak/100GoodCauses/Pages/Nominate.aspx
(So any other UK CFS/ME charities can be nominated by anyone.)

Please post this info far and wide.

Thanks, Bob, just voted - it's a one-off vote and quite quick and easy - I just belted through it without paying much attention but do you really need Facebook, or is g+ or something an alternative?

Ah, yes, thanks Sasha, you can vote if you have a facebook or a google account. (I've corrected my opening post.)

And, yes, it seems to be a one-off vote, so repeated voting isn't necessary for this one.

Thanks, Bob - would you mind editing the first line of your post to say so? There are a lot of people who won't have anything to do with Facebook but who might have a google account.

This is an interesting contest because it's a UK one - the only other I've ever seen was a John Lewis one a good while back for £200. £2,000 is more like it!

Actually, can only UK people vote?

Edit: Yes they can - I checked with the organisers!

A voter can only vote for a Good Cause once from a unique IP address.

Does that mean only one vote per household? Or computer?

This contest ends at the end of April - so please keep on finding more voters :) Invest in ME is the UK charity aiming to establish ME research centre of excellence and more than £88k of the initial total of £100k has been raised so far. The £2,000 prize would help greatly towards reaching the total!

Please share this link on Facebook, Twitter, GooglePlus...

Just had this back from the contest organisers:

Hi Sasha, thank you for your message. Anyone can vote for a cause, in the UK or otherwise - the restriction is only on the causes themselves: they must be UK based. Good luck and thanks for your interest

So that's good news! Anyone can vote. I'll edit my message earlier in this thread accordingly. :)
