Sorry, Kina. I wasn't saying you don't know what you are talking about. I wasn't sure if you were kidding about the spam. I've never downloaded an ebook before. Is the download of an ebook what sets off the spam? Is there a way for you to turn off spam in your Amazon account?

I am sure there would be somewhere within an email where you can opt out from receiving them. I have never looked, I just delete anything I do not want to read.

Oh my! This has turned into quite a process. I just now got to the point of clicking on order. Despite the fact that this is a free book, they now want billing information - address and phone number. I tried it without the phone number and got an error message. Do they actually send out mailed bills? Merry, do you get mail and phone calls from them? Even if you don't, I will still wonder if they sell/give the information to others.

Is this book available in print? I am about to the point of just buying a copy. I would rather sit in a regular chair and read a book than sit at my computer anyway.

This one-of-a-kind reference – now completely revised and updated
–includes over 100 effective treatments, from antivirals to vitamins, as
well as locations of CFS specialists and clinics, Internet ordering
information, and national, local, and international CFS/ME organizations.
New and expanded sections include doctors' protocols and research on the
causes and mechanisms of the illness, all written in concise,
easy-to-understand language.

Every aspect of the illness is thoroughly examined, from diagnosis to an
in-depth discussion of symptoms, from traditional to alternative therapies
to essential coping strategies. The revised Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: A
Treatment Guide remains the most comprehensive reference guide on this
illness.

Praise for the First Edition:
“This reference guide is objective, comprehensive, and clear. It will be a
valuable tool for all CFS patients. Every health-care professional who
treats CFS should also have a copy of this book."
~Dr. Thomas Steinbach, CFS specialist and Internist, Houston, Texas

“I am going to recommend this book to every new patient I see. It is well
balanced and complete. It is the best book I have read on this topic in
years.”
~Dr. David Bell, CFS specialist, Lyndonville, NY, and author of The
Doctor's Guide to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Praise for the Second Edition:

“Verrillo’s book is the encyclopedia of current information about Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome. She not only covers history and theoretical etiologies of
CFS, but provides the very best source for current therapies, which is what
people with CFS really want to know! This is a reference book that every
patient should have. I encourage all my patients to use this as the
“go-to-reference” about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.”
~Dr. Charles Lapp, M.D., Founder, Hunter-Hopkins Center, and
medical advisor to the CFIDS Association of
America and the National Fibromyalgia Association.

"This book is extremely comprehensive and very well referenced, not only
with regard to the full range of treatments that have been helpful, both
alternative and pharmaceutical, but also including detailed descriptions of
the history of this disorder, its definitions, diagnosis, symptoms,
prognosis, mechanisms, and other aspects. All of this is done in a very
readable style. I highly recommend this book."
~Dr. Richard Van Konynenburg, Ph.D., Independent CFS/ME
researcher

“Books such as this empower patients to take control of their own health
education and management... I admire Ms. Verrillo's comprehensive and
cross-disciplinary research and feel her new work will continue to provide
important and useful information to everyone interested in the field."

~Dr. Lucinda Bateman M.D., Director, Fatigue Consultation
Clinic, and co-founder of OFFER (The Organization for Fatigue and
Fibromyalgia Education and Research)

"There is simply no other treatment guide on the market that is presented
with such expansive coverage, making this a 'must' for any health
collection and for any reader concerned with understanding the extent of
CFS."
~Midwest Book Review

Eeek! I don't think my connection will stay logged in for 3 days (or even 1). I am giving it up. I don't know what time zone Amazon is located in, but it is almost midnight here.

Little Bluestem, I'm sorry for your difficulties. The book is only available as an ebook. I don't know if the author has plans to publish the book as a hard copy. Check with your library to see if they could download a copy for you to borrow. I've not borrowed ebooks from my public library, so I don't know how this works.

Whenever I've ordered anything from any company online, I'm asked for billing information. Even though the book at Amazon was free for two days, it was still an order. No, I have never received a telephone call or snail mail from Amazon. I've never had reason to think Amazon sold or gave my billing information to another party. Their privacy policy would say what they do with customer information; I suppose I should read it.

I would have been happy to try to get the ebook to you (upload to cloud storage and send you a link), but it only seems to be accessible to me via the Kindle software, not as a separate document I can share. Sorry.

Little Bluestem, I see that this ebook is lendable. As I've just read at Amazon, ebooks that are lending enabled can be loaned once. The recipient has access for 14 days. The lender needs the email address of the recipient. If this is something you are interested in trying, start a private conversation with me.

Note: This ebook which was available for free for 2 days at Christmas for Kindle, is now downloadable to a PC. I just braved it and did it. First it downloads a kindle reader, then you click "buy" and Amazon asks the usual stuff as if you were ordering stuff, but the bill is 0.

The instructions are at:

http://www.cfstreatmentguide.com/chronic-fatigue-syndrome-a-treatment-guide-2nd-edition.html

Seems to be legit and now I can read it on my PC. Pass the word on to anyone who might be interested.
