ME doctors in South Africa

Does anybody know of any ME/CFS doctors in South Africa ? I have had ME for 18 years and the doctor who used to deal with ME in this country, took a post with Heel overseas. There doesn't seems to be anyone here who knows what is going on in this part of medicine. We have great doctors in South Africa, it just doesn't seem like there are any who are involved with treating ME Patients. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there is one ME/CFS doctor/researcher over there who is world wide known (dont know if he's still lin practice or not).
Dr Cecile Jadin . He had a big interest in CFS involving Rickettsia side of things. (My specialist in Australia found a similar link in his ME/CFS finding that half of his ME/CFS patients test postive to Rickettsia).

Thanks for the info. I used to be a patient with Alta Smit - she is the doctor who left the country to take up an academic post overseas. I have seen Dr Cecil Jardin about 10 years ago, tried the antibiotics for 4-5 months with not much improvement. Problem is that everyone that was tested for Ricketsia turns out positive, so its a bit of a hit and miss affair as regards to whether the treatment helps or not.

Hi, tania.

I just want to note that Dr. Cecile Jadin is a woman. :)-)

Best regards,

Thanks @Effi ! I directed someone to their main site as well. :) Probably everyone mentioned here is already mentioned there -- they are indubitably more invested in maintaining their list. ;)
