I have been diagnosed in 2006 and have been dealing with constant sore throat and earaches ever since.
I would like to find out if others are having the same problems.

Yesterday I met a very nice lady at the IACFS conference who told me that earaches are caused by a problem with blow flow. A CFS doctor at the conference suggested to take 1/4 of a tablet of vassopressin.
Are you dealing with the same problem? Would vassopressin be a drug of choice for this problem? I would like to find out before I see my doctor (next Monday).

Hi BDF -i hope you are enjoying the conference and keeping strong too!

I keep having sore throats and earaches. It went away for about 10 months but is recently back. I also have a weird problem where food keeps going up at the back of my throat and feels like its going up my nose! yuck. I would love to know what causes it. I used to have bad systemic candida but i dont htink it is that back -although for some that can cause the sore throat and earaches symptoms. I dont want to suggest its the answer for everyone tho.
Take care, Justy.

Thank you, Justy.
I attended yesterday's presentations but I am in bed today and probably for a while. Too sick to continue.
What you described is probably different from what I have. I do have digestion problems (something is going on with my liver) but your case seems worse than mine... =-( I feel bad for you. I would not want that.

I'm wondering if the pain in the ears and the sore throat are related. Maybe they are two different things and we should be treating them as such?

What do you do for your sore throat?

Sometimes a lymph drainage massage can help earaches. Stuff gets backed up and the massage will help drain it. Does your neck hurt, in the back and under the jaw line? It could be your lymph nodes are clogged. You can try massaging it yourself or get someone else to massage your neck.

I am starting to think that it could be plausible. I will try that and see it it helps.
Thank you.

I used to have the ear aches. They actually ended up being a combination of ear infections, sinus infections and acid reflux that was so bad when I layed down it drained into my ear. For some reason the ear infections went away but I still get the sinus infections occaisionally.

I don't have an ear infection. Well, I don't think so.
The right side of my nose is blocked but I don't know why.
The CPAP machine makes me breath better at night.
I could have acid reflux because my throat is really sore
but no redness.
How can I figure this out?

If you do try the massage, see if it opens up your sinus passages as well. The blocked lymph nodes can block the sinuses as well. Also, cerebrospinal fluid is blocked and who knows what else. Qi? I've felt a rush of feeling going down to my toes during a neck massage, an opening up feeling of relief as well as having my sinuses unblocked and fluid draining down my throat during the massage and for about an hour afterward. It's especially effective when my husband (who's doing the massage) presses on points on my neck. He can usually feel a tightness/lump at these places.

I think the only way to find out if you have acid reflux burning your ear canal is to have a scope put down your throat to look for scar tissue, but I am not sure. An allergy doctor actually first told me about mine. I did a breathing test witch indicated some blockage in my throat. He said he sees this pattern all the time in people with acid reflux. And then I went to a doctor who put a scope down my throat. I cannot remember if he was an ear nose and throat doctor or a gastroenterologist. I think he was an ear nose and throat doctor (Otolaryngologist). If the problem is lymph nodes I would think that either an otolaryngologist or an endocrinologist would be able to run some tests. When I had swollen lymph nodes these doctors are the ones who ordered x-rays, ultrasound etc.

I hope that you have found a resolution by now, but if not here is a thought for you :

It may be that the sore throats, etc... and earaches are not related. I have had same symtoms you describe and always connected the two. ( Docs did as well)
I had a severe flare of TMJD (Temporomandibular joint disorder ) and was finally sent to TMJD specialist (3 of them eventually in my quest for relief--but that's a tangent)
The first one actually read those seemingly endless new patient forms that doctors make you fill out and most never bother to look at much, that include pages of symptoms possible to mankind. ( Doesn't it seem that b/c this plague has one checking so many, that they glance at all those check marks and move quickly
on?)
Xrays later revealed that the earaches are from severe inflammation in the TMJ. It feels like it's a wicked earache, but is actually in the joint(s). ( Is worse on one side, but then many of my symptoms are, so I never thought much of that)

A shot in the dark for you. I have read that in some cases earaches are the only symptom.

Best of luck in getting to the bottom of your issue(s)

ed: typo -- there are probably more!

What would I give to have one day without the pain in my ears!.. and the sore throat!
I can't breathe properly. It comes with headaches, too. :headache:
I will ask my daughter to do a lymphatic drainage. There are many YouTube videos out there. It's easy to copy what they are doing. Thank you for your help.

An ENT did check this out for me but it was 5 years ago. Since then, many things have happened (very emotional stuff). So, the acid reflux could be new. Never know. My GP says there is nothing wrong with my throat. No redness. No swelling. It feels more like a virus is in there (chronic pharyngitis). In my lungs, too.

I had a few episodes of very severe TMJD. It was unbearable. However, I don't feel the pain anymore. There is no way I could have dealt with that any longer. It's been an on-going problem for me, so it could be that. Thank you for your suggestion.

I looked up the symptoms of TMJ. Earraches, sinus pain, headaches and sore throat are all symptoms:

Common Symptoms which could Suggest TMJ

Headaches
Uncomfortable when chewing gum
Ringing or other sounds in ears
Ear pain
Pain in sinus areas or behind eyes
Sore throat without cause
Neck, shoulder & back pain
Pain in front of the ears
Clicking, grinding sounds in jaw joint, popping
Gum & bone loss around teeth
Dizziness
Sensitive teeth (unspecific to any one tooth)
Limited opening of the jaws
Clenching or grinding teeth (day or night)
Awakening with jaws clenched
Feeling fatigued after a full night's sleep
Feeling that your teeth don't meet right

I had a chronic sore throat infection for over a year but there was redness and white spots associated with it. It would go away for awhile after I took collodial silver but finally went away for good when I took MMS. Now I only get sore throats when I get overtired.
