"Rice itself is gluten free (it does contain rice gluten, but it is NOT the gluten that triggers the autoimmune response of a celiac, btw.) The problem with white rice is that it is enriched, which means that the rice is sprayed with a vitamin enriched coating. Most of the big (e.g. Uncle Ben's, Mahatma) manufacturers use a corn based starch to get the coating to stick to the rice but that is...

I'm starting 18 mg iron per day. Surely it will improve my energy if I am low in iron? It's unbelievable to me that my old blood tests showed normal iron levels. 2 months ago I reduced the amount of red meat I eat, and I reduced it 4 months before that. So I finally looked into iron RDA and food sources. I am shocked because I eat almost none of the foods I saw listed. Just chocolate,...

I think it's from sugar or dairy, even though they are organic. I also blame dairy for a general dry stuffiness in my sinuses and nose. I really need the protein, fat, and calories so I am disappointed. I will do some more diet changes in a month.

Based on my limited understanding of my 23andme results, I have a heterozygous mutation for rs1801133. "Also known as C677T, Ala222Val, and A222V, it encodes a variant in the MTHFR gene, which encodes an enzyme involved in folate metabolism." I don't understand this, so I hope it means that Freddd's protocol (which I have started) will help. I also have a rs1065852 mutation meaning decreased...

I was taking the survey, which is a good idea, and I look forward to the results. I am also saddened by it. I have been suffering well over 20 years now. Many PWCs have been for 10 to 20+ years. I am too tired to write more.

I plan to start some of the recommended herbs in the thread at Therron said "I was forever having trouble starting the methylation protocol until I cleared up my gut." I have some reasons to believe my gut is above-average, particularly that I lack most symptoms. Based on my diet and occasional use of...

I am on my 3rd day of natural thyroid pills, and it's made a clear positive difference from the first day. I tried natural thyroid once before, but I was a lot less clear about the results because I was trying many other supplements in that month. I recently read that you need to raise your dose multiple times until you reach a certain level. When I previously tried thyroid, this is clearly...

If I take them, I need to be guarded. The danger is I use more energy, and the next day is worse for me. It doesn't feel as hard to do some activities, and I do more than I should. I hate when I have too much caffeine. I had caffeinated hot tea and it was far too much. I am trying to learn what levels I can handle. I may have to limit how much chocolate I have at once :(

I am getting ready to start this in about 1 week. I take no medications. I take OTC allergy pills. I plan to start natural thyroid soon. For the past weeks, I have only used a liquid multivitamin and rarely vitamins/supplements for migraine. The liquid multivitamin makes me tired. This could be due to having folic acid. I will stop using it soon. I am worried about the protocol...
